Welcome to Seldomseen
A naturalist’s paradise in the Vumba Mountains, Eastern Zimbabwe.
Our main aim is for our guests to “chill out” and relax away from the stresses and strains of city life. No TV and very little cell phone coverage but lots of space filled with peace and quiet!
Seldomseen is one of Southern Africa’s premier birding venues, presenting visitors with a chance to record a number of the region’s rare and restricted-range species such as the Swynnerton’s Robin, Red Faced Crimsonwing and Buff Spotted Flufftail to name a few!.
Seldomseen offers the non-birders an opportunity to relax, unwind, and enjoy the spectacular views into Mozambique. Lovely forest walks on a comprehensive network of paths with Samango monkeys, Sun Squirrels, dwarf chameleons and a variety of special butterflies and frogs are there to entertain our guests. Lucky people may get to see the elusive Blue Duiker or even the very uncommon Tree Civet!
For those more botanically minded, the indigenous evergreen forests drip with ferns, mosses, orchids and unusual fungi.
